Scout II Steering Coupler
Tired of driving your Scout around with loose steering? Look at the condition of your Steering Coupler. It is likely worn and coming apart. We have the replacement coupler for your steering system. While there are a few parts that can cause the sloppy steering, this is the easiest, and cheapest way to fix the play in the Scout steering system. We have included the proper way to measure your steering box. Eliminate the guess work by using our measurement guide below. Be sure to click the correct size when ordering.
Please Choose 3/4″ – 30 Spline or 13/16″ – 36 Spline
Measuring process:
- If an 11/16″ 12 point box end wrench fits snug on the splines of the steering box input shaft, then you have a ’78-’80 Scout II box and need a 3/4″x 30 steering joint.
- If an 11/16″ 12 point box end wrench does not fit over the splines of the steering box input shaft, then you have a ’71-’77 Scout II box and need a 13/16″ x 36 steering joint. The measurement on the input splines of the steering box should be 0.80 inches in diameter if you are measuring with a caliper.
