Coil Over Shock: Day 19

[threecol_two]So now that P3’s outsides are done, and P3’s insides are done, well, its time to give it a spin around the block.

The first time we tried this, we couldn’t stop (brake issue), but this time we are a bit more prepared, with a new improved brake system and the higher-stall torque converter. At the same time, sure we checked everything, but how will it all work once the wheels are turning? Well, we were about to find out, and wouldn’t you know, we didn’t have any seat belts installed yet!

Ready or not, here it goes!

Sure enough, not only did everything check out, everything worked, at least around our parking lot. But what will it do on the road? Well it was time to find out, with a quick run to the gas station.

That little Jeep is my mom’s. We built it for her a couple years ago. You see, she wouldn’t allow us to build a Scout for her, she said there’s too many in the family. Why is it at the station? Well, it turns out we actually ran out of gas on the way to the station, so we ran back and got it since ‘grandma’ (as my son knows her) always carries a gas can. But its a cute little jeep, not bad for a 60 year old grandma, right?

After gassing P3 up. We drove around a bit. Everything was working well. We drove it home and back for the next couple days to make sure the gears were broken in properly and that there would be no surprises. The only thing that needed a little tweaking is the injection and ignition, Nate has a guy up north that tweaks engines for optimum performance, so he made an appointment and Nate drove it up a few days later.

And with that , P3 is done. Thanks for reading through the buildup of P3. We hope you enjoyed it. And like all the other buildups, here are the ‘finished’ pictures!

Here is a group shot of all the people who have worked on P3. All are or were D and C Extreme employees with the sole exception of Nate. The only person not in this picture, is Chris Normile.
