Project 5 - Scout '02 (Main)
Now announcing Project 5, The Scout 02.
This is going to take a different form than all our other buildups. Instead
of building a dream, we are going to create one. Here is how it will work.
If you were to build a 4x4 today, what would it have, what do you want.
This is the essence of this buildup ~ but we are going to use a Scout II
or, should we say a Scout 02.
We're looking for a participant for Project 5! Here is a quick look at the build we will be completing!
* Xtreme Link Conversion (XLC)
* 33x12.50x15 Mud Terrain
* Engine: Performance 345 (w/ Fuel Injection)
* Transmission: Performance TF727 (RV Gearset, Bolt-in sprag)
* Transfer Case: Atlas II or STaK
* 5-Lug D60 or 9-inch rear (w/ selectable locker)
* High Pinion Dana 44 or High Pinion 9-inch front (w/ selectable locker)
* HySteer steering
* Body and paint (NEW FULL METAL BODY)
As with all *new* vehicles, there are options. Any the participant has gone with the bigger tires and optional
wheels, cage, bumpers and so forth. This Scout will be an awesome off-roader,
but emphasis on this buildup will be a dual-purpose SUV-type daily driver
that can be used for street driving, towing or moderate-to-hardcore offroading.
I mean, why buy a torn down Jeep when you can have something much better.
There are other things we'll be doing, but I think that this embodies
the scope of the buildup this will be. Its going to be the best of everything,
a brand new Scout. A Scout ‘02.
